The record consists of a handwritten genealogy of selected branches of the Ridgely family of Delaware with certain allied families. The volume is arranged by individual, with a biographical sketches, list of public offices held, and list of descendants. The volume also contains articles and newsclippings relating to various family members. Of particular interest is a short obituary/memoir of Margaret Finner (1778?-1854), a "mammy" in the household of Henry M. Ridgely.
